RIBALON INSTITUTE

Ribalon institute is a private nonprofit training and research institute for the Solution Focused Approach. It was established in February 2015 as a result of 8 years of working with higher education students, specifically students with disabilities. As the need for support grew, so did the passion for work. In 2014, we have reached out to other young people who needed support as well (beyond student's population, hence reaching young graduates, young unemployed people and NEET young people. Since the effects of our work have been fast, remarkable and highly positive, we have opened Ribalon Institute in order to be able to reach and participate on international level in youth projects. The methodology we are applying is Solution Focused Brief Therapy and Coaching, which are highly effective when working with severe personal or professional issues, relationships or situations. We are also delivering trainings and workshops and hence promoting pro-activity and creating a desired change in important areas of individual’s life.

The quality system used is strict, with regular supervision and consultation from world known solution focused therapists and coaches. Ribalon has a vision of becoming a leading organization for the Solution Focused Approach in Slovenia, primarily aiming at serving young population, especially young people with fewer opportunities through offering high quality training, offering tools and techniques for youth workers and coaching sessions for young people who are stuck in their life situations.

Ribalon regularly runs national and international trainings for youth leaders, youth workers, trainers and other participants as well as organize workshops on various topics that promote and foster human rights and flourishing. We also regularly run one-on-one coaching sessions. Our target groups for individual sessions are people who are stuck in their life situations or decisions, people with disabilities and other difficulties, young offenders, school leavers, young people who suffer from eating disorders or substance misuse and many other youth with fewer opportunities who want to make a difference in their life situation. We work systemic, i.e. try to include individual's meaningful others, therefore we are often working with families, schools or other important stakeholders in individual's life. Our services are often sought by organizations, who encounter problems with "hard to reach" and "hard to work with" clients.

Expertise in trainings is related to change amplifying, i.e. not only how to be flexible when negative changes arise, but further, how to amplify change. Therefore we train people and organizations who find themselves in complex situations and need pragmatically custom tailored and lasting solutions. We also work with teams and mentors, as well as HR departments.

Ribalon is the first and only organization in Slovenia that is professionally involved in offering Solution Focused Approach training. Our staff has been trained with the leading experts and institutions in the field (in EU and US). The counseling body of Ribalon consists of outsource experts with decades of practical experience from different fields - youth, adolescents, adults and even corporate world). Apart from that, Ribalon is a full member of European Brief Therapy Association and has a wide range of international connections.
